Melanie Summerton- Yoga instructor & healer
We're excited to have the amazing yoga instructor Melanie Summerton on the March 28- April 5 retreat in Canoa. <3
a little about her; ✨ With dreams of traveling the world from a young age, Melanie left Australia and found herself for the next 15 years in Asia and India where she began her journey into yoga. Her first love affair began with Ashtanga yoga, becoming a 500hr RYT. Noticing the high levels of injuries in this style, Melanie then followed up with Anusara inspired trainings to draw upon safer alignment. Realizing the more she knew, the less she knew, she continued with further trainings in Hatha, Vinyassa flow, Yogalaties, Thai yoga massage, Reiki, Chinese cupping, Fasting and Ayurveda. Teaching in and managing numerous centers across the world, opening her own yoga and detox retreat center in Thailand, and finally inspired rooting down in Canoa, Ecuador for a new pace and life experience.
Emelie - Massage Therapist
I work mostly with a technic called Swedish classic massage, where i use natural oils and work slow movements and deep pressure. I have also studied Thai massage in a town called Chaing Mai in the north off Thailand where that massage is inherited. Thai massage is based on stretching in different positions and is also called “lazy mens yoga” . I have also studied and worked with another technic called Energy massage which is a short version off the classic Japanese massage. The Energy massage is based on working on pressure points and to release stress. So the massages i give are a Classic Swedish massage with influences off Thai- and energy massage. I became interested in doing and studying massage at very young age. I was only 10 years old i started my interest and practiced on friends and family, learning from books i borrowed at the library. I knew early what i wanted to do, and that is to help people. With massage i can help people ease their pain and release stress from their body. Hope to see you in beautiful Canoa!.
